This position is a hybrid position to work from Mexico for US clients. You will be working as a consultant directly with US Clients. Monday and Fridays are remote from home; Tuesday, Wednesday, & and Thursday are on-site at client location in Guadalajara, Mexico. CP 45110 Title: Senior Unix Systems Administrator – Scripting Specialist We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Unix Systems Administrator with a strong focus on scripting. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing Unix systems and automating processes using PowerBash, Shell, and other scripting languages. Key Responsibilities: System Administration: Manage and maintain Unix/Linux servers, including installation, configuration, and upgrades. Monitor system performance and optimize resource usage. Ensure system reliability, availability, and security. Scripting & Automation: Develop and maintain scripts (using Bash, Shell, Python etc.) to automate routine tasks and processes. Implement configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet) for automated deployment. Troubleshooting & Support: Diagnose and resolve system issues, providing timely support to users and other IT staff. Perform regular backups and disaster recovery procedures. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures. Prepare reports on system performance, uptime, and incidents. Collaboration: Work closely with development and operations teams to support applications and services. Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 5+ years of experience as a Unix/Linux Administrator or similar role. Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems (e.g., Solaris, Red Hat). Proficient in scripting languages (Bash, Shell, Python,) for automation tasks. Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., newrelic and catchpoint) and performance tuning. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Experience with Monitoring tools like New Relic or Catchpoint
