With population increase and urbanization, privately owned cars are becoming less and less efficient in the way of living.
The way we develop cars need therefor to also consider the uses and needs of the complete list of consumers that doesn’t necessarily own the cars themselves, but rather loan it for a shorter period, for example through car sharing services or use it in their work, i.

Scope.
NON-PERSONAL CARS Investigate user needs for the situations when the car is not personal but rather shared or is used in other ways than privately owned ones, like for example •    taxi drivers •    car sharing services Investigate differences in user need, car owner vs car consumer (actual user) •    What needs do they have? •    What functions are they missing that could be useful for the situations they are in compared to a private person’s? •    Suggest improvements to the current car setup based on the findings.
Explore also what this means for information sharing when a car is not private.
•    How do data privacy impact driving and charging statistics? •    How should consumption history be used and stored for calculation purposes for other functions in the car?   Could be looking a bit into the future as well, when car sharing might be more and more important.

Pre-requisites •    Pursuing a Master of Science in Interaction Design, Industrial Design or similar.
