GOVERNMENT RELATIONS DIRECTOR

+ Engage, maintain and nurture relationships with government, associated authorities and all committees, legislatively representatives to protect organization interests.
+ Represent the organization’s interests at the highest levels of the country of assignment’s government at all levels including national, provincial, regional, and local government.
+ Establish rapport with government officials, industry associations and trade organizations to ensure representation of Cummins’ interests.
+ Work with industry and trade groups to develop and advocate for common industry positions.
+ Compile and ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, and ethical concerns within area of jurisdiction and broadly across the organization.
+ Speaks at external and internal meetings regarding public policy issues and activities; serves as an external spokesperson with public policy stakeholders for the company, particularly for the country or business of assignment.

+ Government Advocacy - Demonstrates deep understanding of the mechanics of how the legislative, executive and judicial branches enact law or policy changes at the national, state/provincial and local government level in the country of assignment; identifies engagement opportunities and legal obligations relating to lobbying and political activities at the national, state/provincial and local levels.
