Job Summary To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Director, Materials located in Guadalajara, North Site.
The Director, Materials role involves working closely with the management teams within the Materials segment, in charge of directing and guiding the implementation of strategies and tactical execution for efficient and cost-effective materials flow to deliver the maximum advantage to the business (segment) and customers.
What a typical day looks like.
Guide and direct sourcing teams in identifying, communicating and implementing sourcing strategies and supply chain management best practice.
Plan and implement activities related to the timely and cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials.
Work closely with sub-ordinates to ensure global strategies and policies are effectively developed, communicated and implemented driving best practices Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, material control systems and metrics to reduce costs, streamline procedures and implement solutions.
Establish successful relationships with suppliers on a country, regional or global basis to ensure the availability of materials in the supply chain as scheduled and the maintenance of inventory at minimum acceptable levels.
Work with the Global Commodity management and strategic supply chain management teams on sourcing strategies including supplier selection, risk research and capacity management.
Coordinate with Finance on matters involving inventory carrying costs and review and plan requirements for acceptable inventory.
Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
Regularly interact with executives and major clients which may result in influencing and/or persuading customer negotiations.
Implement appropriate HR strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce.
The experience we're looking to add to our team.
BS degree in Engineering electronics, mechanics, mechatronics or similar Preference Master's degree in related field.
Fluent English, written and spoken.
Advanced experience in materials management.
Lean Supply Chain training desired.
Ability to work with Global Procurement and Manufacturing sites to leverage supply chain, achieve cost reductions through negotiation of localization and vertical integration; to establish timelines.
Demonstrates mastery of functional knowledge in relation to other functions and a complete understanding of the function and those of related businesses.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or styles.
Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables Schedule availability What you'll receive for the great work you provide.
