The Customer Demand Planner will be responsible for all aspects of demand forecasting relative to SKU, customer, and shipping location for their assigned customer portfolio.
This role will oversee the consolidation of multiple, highly complex, demand inputs from Sales, Order-to-Cash, and Demand Planning into one comprehensively assembled customer demand forecast.
The role will have direct accountability for accuracy of demand forecast, the process to deliver it, and continuous improvement.
The Customer Demand Planner has ownership over risk & opportunities within the customer team along with specific scenario planning.
The role embraces Dynamic Shared Ownership (DSO) principles and practices and follows the VACC approach to leadership (being a visionary, architect, catalyst, and coach).
The role actively evolves the operating model and fosters successful adoption of DSO.
Scope (global, regional or local).
Regional NA Key Tasks.
Own the Demand Planning process and accuracy of the forecast.
Increase demand forecasting accuracy by removing forecast bias, utilizing robust analytics, while applying logic from customer trends Review customer/item-level key forecast misses from prior periods, conduct root cause analytics, and enable methods for continuous improvement Deliver forecast accuracy (FCA%), and (FCB%) KPI’s to meet annual targets.
Leverage internal exception reporting such as Repeating Bias and the Integrated Planning workbook to achieve these results.
Manage customer projections for retail inventory builds and seasonal shipment / consumption plans Be operationally responsible for demand forecast.
Create a shipment-based demand forecast at the customer/item and item/dc levels, and clearly communicate changes and key misses to Product Supply for context Ownership of Risks & Opportunities as managed by Customer Teams, and share with Product Supply to proactively risk-mitigate potential write-off or customer service issues before they occur Monitoring of new product launches and guidance on forecast adjustments needed at a customer level Own the partnerships with key leadership and product supply Serve as demand forecasting expert for your customer/brand(s), and generate key drivers and insights of demand forecasts within your portfolio at all relevant meetings Provide guidance to the category leads related to the overall forecast, and any gaps versus consensus targets Qualification & Competencies.
Bachelor's degree or master's degree with multi-functional experience in Business Planning, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a technical discipline Bachelor’s degree with 4 years’ experience, or master’s degree and 2 years’ experience Experience in a Pharmaceutical, Consumer Products or regulated industry background and understanding of supply chain management principles such as (but not limited to) Production Planning, Purchasing, Forecasting, and Logistics Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, customer focus and negotiation skills required Computer skills/ability to work with various software packages, e.
., Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Demonstrated ability to lead projects, work as a team player and self-starter Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a matrixed organization Affinity for servant leadership, situational awareness, continual improvement and transparency Leading with purpose, driving inclusion, respecting differences, and showing up as authentic best self.
