Unix/Linux System Administrator We are seeking a Unix/Linux System Administrator to join our Applications Development team at Marsh.
This role will be based in Mexico City.
This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
As a Unix/Linux Administrator Associate at Marsh, you willbe responsible for the administration, support, and maintenance of our AIX and Linux environments, with a proactive approach to system management and a strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
We will count on you to.
Administer and maintain AIX UNIX systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
Support and manage Linux servers, including installation, configuration, and upgrades.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
Implement and maintain security measures, including user access controls and system patches.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement system solutions that meet business needs.
Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and policies.
Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing to ensure data integrity and availability.
Assist in capacity planning and system optimization to support business growth.
What you need to have.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of proven experience as an AIX UNIX System Administrator, with a strong understanding of AIX operating systems.
Experience with shell scripting and automation tools to streamline system management tasks.
Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP).
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Advanced Level of English is a Must What makes you stand out.
AIX UNIX System Administration experience with a solid foundation in Linux Familiarity with Linux systems administration, including Red Hat, Oracle Linux and Ubuntu.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
