Jump in and join the ride!     The Exterior Rear Lighting Department – Let’s introduce ourselves!  The first thing you notice on a car is the exterior with its distinctive lighting.
Exterior lighting is a key communication point for Volvo Cars towards our customers and this will increase even further in the future due to the rapid development of new advanced technologies.
Our Team, Rear Lighting, belongs to the department Exterior System.
We are responsible for development of Exterior Rear lighting such as Rear lamps, reflex, stop lamps and puddle light.

Want to join us?   As a Design Engineer at rear Lighting, you'll play a vital role in developing solutions that really catches the eye, particularly focusing on technical solutions that pushes development forward.
From the initial stages together with product design until the launch, you'll be involved in every step of the process.
This role requires expertise in designing exterior lights as well as extensive cooperation skills working together with our skilled concept development team and with the Design Department.
This offers you the opportunity to build a broad network across Volvo Cars Development and with our production suppliers.
Main responsibilities.
Develop rear lighting concepts in collaboration with product design from the start of the project until launch phaze.
Work closely with the Exterior Rear Lighting design team to drive technical solutions that create a stunning rear end while meeting internal and legal requirements, including cost targets.
Participate in integration activities that require alignment and cooperation across teams.
Ensure product quality through actions such as Design Reviews.
Support timely development during component sourcing and coordinate with involved suppliers.
In some programs, act as the lead of the Rear Lighting design team, planning deliveries for various activities in line with the Volvo Product Development System (VPDS).
Collaborate with the Suppliers, Group Design Lead, Product Owner, and Engineering Manager during design reviews.
What you’ll bring The ideal candidate has previous experience in designing Exterior Lighting as a CAD designer, with a special urge to support Volvos world leading ambitions in the area.
Also willing to perform new ideas in advanced engineering exploring new technologies adopting a sustainability mindset.
You are motivation yourself and your teammates by a curious and open mindset when driving a task and meeting deadlines.
With a self-driven, curious nature, you maintain a positive, open-minded attitude and are eager to learn with a willingness to share knowledge within your team.

Previous experience in CATIA Previous experience in Automotive Exterior Lighting   And it’s a bonus if you have.
