Cloud Operations Engineer Description The Cloud Operations Engineer will use their knowledge of system architecture and administration to provide operational support for business critical systems.
Based upon strategic direction and initiatives the candidate must be able to deliver successful results for agreed upon objectives.
A thorough knowledge of IT concepts, strategies and methodologies is essential.
This position requires excellent oral and written communication skills, strong customer service focus, and ability to work in a team as well as independently, ability to learn on the fly, ability to follow procedures, and ability to suggest improvements to existing procedures as appropriate.
Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
Five or more years experience providing operations support for enterprise environments.
ITIL Foundation Certification preferred.

The candidate will also be responsible for interacting with customer counterparts on a regular basis and serving as the technology expert on the customer’s behalf.
his service is delivered via remote support and the candidate should be able to work in an independent environment while interacting with other team members remotely.
This position requires participation in a 24x7 schedule that requires working on either Saturday or Sunday.
Dress Code There is no formal dress code for this position, however the candidate will be required to follow customer dress codes in the event that they will be asked to travel to the customer site.
Travel Travel may be required for training or as needed at the customer’s request.
The candidate should have a valid driver’s license and a passport for the ability to travel upon request.
areer Level - IC4 Work with Cloud Operations team on the shared full stack ownership of a collection of services and/or technology areas.
Understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics of production services.
Responsible for the design and delivery of the mission critical stack, with focus on security, resiliency, scale, and performance.
Authority for end-to-end performance and operability.
Partner with development teams in defining and implementing improvements in service architecture.
Articulate technical characteristics of services and technology areas and guide Development Teams to engineer and add premier capabilities to the Oracle Cloud service portfolio.
Understand and communicate the scale, capacity, security, performance attributes, and requirements of the service and technology stack.
Demonstrate clear understanding of automation and orchestration principles.
Act as ultimate escalation point for complex or critical issues that have not yet been documented as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Utilize a deep understanding of service topology and their dependencies required to troubleshoot issues and define mitigations.
Understand and explain the affect of product architecture decisions on distributed systems.
Professional curiosity and a desire to a develop deep understanding of services and technologies.
