MMC is seeking candidates for the following position based in the Mexico office.
Senior Specialist Linux and Unix Platforms What can you expect? Responsible for providing and overseeing Operating System and hardware support.
Leading member of the team ensuring server incidents and changes are managed within SLA.
Organizes server management and monitoring tools to proactively manage infrastructure.
Handles installations, patches, upgrades, capacity planning and performance tuning, through approved change management mechanisms.
Executes the diagnoses/repairs of system problems; utilizes tools sets available and works closely with other internal group/vendor support.
Manages and ensures compliance with Corporate Security policies (Administrative Accounts use, Anti – virus, Patch status, Services etc.) What is in it for you? Be a seasoned professional individual contributor in Information Technology, who works independently with minimal supervision.
What you need to have.
5+ years of experience with Linux and Unix operating systems Red Hat, Oracle Linux, Ubuntu and Solaris.
HP-UX and AIX experience are a plus.
Superior scripting knowledge and the ability to develop server automation solutions, including automated builds, server maintenance and run-book automation using Ansible or Oracle Linux Automation Manager.
Programming experience with Shell, Perl, or Python.
Must have a proven track record managing technical initiatives, and the ability to work closely with different business groups, both onshore and off.
Designing and implementing system to system interconnectivity with high availability and fault tolerance, as well as Domain authentication and various services Planning, installing, configuring, supporting, and optimizing Linux systems.
Advanced experience with Clustering solutions such as Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager (OLVM) What makes you stand out? (Preferred Qualifications) Superior trouble shooting and technical skills.
Ability to adapt and learn, take on new responsibilities and challenges.
Take ownership of problems and resolve in a timely manner.
