Oracle Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) brings the power and versatility of the Oracle Database to the cloud.
As a service offering built on top of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, it integrates award winning Oracle database technologies such as the Oracle Autonomous Database, Oracle Exadata and Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) making them available to customers of all stripes both for Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) as well as Data Warehousing workloads.
he Oracle DBaaS group builds and operates Oracle's DBaaS service offering on top of an extensive fleet of highly available, enterprise grade baremetal, virtual machine and Exadata infrastructure.
hat are we looking for? We are looking for hands-on software engineers with a passion to solve interesting problems in distributed systems and high availability.
You will be responsible for the software design, development and deployment of various critical components of the system and also help mentor/manage a team of expert engineers.
You should be hands-on with the ability to dig deeper into any part of the stack while also having the ability to look at the big picture and make engineering decisions.
You should also be able to apply those fundamentals to real-world problems and come up with specialized solutions.
Qualifications.
Proven experience in delivering and leading highly scalable and highly available distributed systems.
Strong knowledge of JAVA and object oriented programming is required.
Strong knowledge of microservices, design pattern and databases.
Good understanding of operating systems, virtualization and containers.
Strong knowledge in data structures, algorithms and computer science fundamentals.
Excellent solving and debugging skills at all levels of the stack.
Ability to quickly respond to any alerts/incidents and provide initial triage or efficiently bring up to Operations staff.
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience as a software engineer/developer Career Level - IC3 Participate in the design and architecture of large-scale Distributed DBaaS Service featuresDesign, write and deliver software to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of Oracle DBaaS service.
Participate in research and prototyping (proof of concept) different aspect of Oracle DBaaS serviceSolve complex and difficult problems and build automation to prevent them from happening againParticipate in DBaaS service capacity planning, demand forecasting, software performance analysis, and system tuning.
Participate in periodic on-call dutiesDesign, develop, solve, and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems.
Provide technical leadership to other software developers.
Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
