DESCRIPTION ROC (Relay Operation Center) is the central command and control center for ‘Transportation Execution’ across the Amazon's transportation network.
It ensures hassle free, timely pick-up and delivery of freight from vendors to Amazon fulfillment centers (FC) and from Amazon FCs to carrier hubs.
In case of any exceptions, ROC steps in to resolve the issue and keeps all the stakeholders informed on the proceedings.
Along with this tactical problem solving, ROC is also charged with understanding trends in network exceptions and then automating processes or proposing process changes to streamline operations.
This second aspect involves network monitoring and significant analysis of network data.
Overall, ROC plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth functioning of Amazon transportation and thereby has a direct impact on Amazon’s ability to serve its customers on time.
Key job responsibilities Responsibilities of an ROC Manager We are looking for an experienced Manager to coordinate and lead efforts across transportation operations, partner with technology for development of relevant tech and liaise with partner ROC teams for drawing synergies.
As an ROC Manager, the candidate will be coordinating and driving execution, scoping and creating project plans, developing processes and communicating to senior management on status, risks and process changes.
You will also set and drive the culture of defect reduction through continuous improvement cycles while driving accountability across multiple business units in order to deliver large scale high visibility/ impact projects.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to.
• Ensure seamless operational execution and provide guidance to the team on streamlining processes through benchmarking with other geos and by defining new framework catering to the nuances of the geography • Identify process improvement opportunities and work directly with internal customers and partner teams to craft and deliver scalable solutions • Lead a team of 35+ members consisting of managers and ground team.
Hires, coaches effectively and provides feedback to direct reports to help develop talent and support career development.
• Lead standardization, centralization and work closely with relevant stakeholder teams to bring in right mechanisms and drive improvements in metrics • Set measurable milestones for programs as well as continuous goal setting for ongoing programs • Collect and analyze data to drive decisions and provide business insights A day in the life A day in the life You’ll be the key link between a number of teams, including Sites, ATS, Procurement, TOM, LP, Planning.
That means you’ll be close to the day-to-day transportation operations in MX, but also contribute to new ways to improve processes and holding stakeholders accountable.
A typical day will involve meetings with different areas of the business, deep diving into metrics, and looking ahead to request levers for future operational issues.
You’ll be a source of leadership and support your team to be the best managers they can be.

Tepotzotlán, MEX, MEX BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree - High experience in Program/Operations management.
- Has a background in quantitative decision making, ability to drive business/operations metrics, and driving adoption of different tools and resources.
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements.
- Has strong knowledge in operational management with ability of quick decision making on critical issues in day-to-day operations.
- Great communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Solid inter-personal and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in advanced MS Excel (macros, pivot tables, etc.), SQL, and Tableau.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Superior analytical skills, including strong ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems.
- Understand and drive appropriate performance metrics - Ability to create compelling positioning / messaging strategy and present complex information clearly and concisely.
- High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical, mediation and problem resolution skills.
- Demonstrated leadership with a bias towards action, supporting a culture of ownership and learning.
- Skilled in collaborative management environment, succeeding through regular meetings and clear formal and informal communication with members of the remote and local management teams.
