MANAGER, SOFTWARE DEV, DEMAND SCIENCE OPTIMIZATION (DSO)

DESCRIPTION We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Engineering to establish and run our new site in Mexico City.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in building and managing a team of engineers and delivering on our programs while ensuring that our team culture is effectively implemented and embraced in this new location.
In this pivotal role, you will leverage your extensive experience in building high-performing teams and launching scalable and resilient systems in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities.

- Fluent in both Spanish and English.

About the team Demand Science Optimization (DSO) builds products that automate data-driven decision-making for demand planning across build, allocation, and consumer sales.
This includes determining optimal pricing to maximize CP (or minimize promo spend), maximize in-stock rates while meeting consumer demand, as well as gauging consumer willingness to pay for subscription and physical products.
We build machine learning, OR, and modeling systems to achieve these goals.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 3+ years of engineering team management experience - 7+ years of engineering experience - 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience - Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations - Experience partnering with product or program management teams PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy - Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
