Key Responsibilities
Customs Compliance Documentation
Prepare and review customs documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and other importexport paperwork.
Ensure all shipments comply with international trade laws, customs regulations, and company policies.
Monitor and stay updated on changes in trade regulations, tariffs, and duty rates.
Communicate with customs authorities and clearing agents to resolve any compliance or clearance issues.
Logistics Coordination
Oversee the logistics of international shipments, including arranging transportation, selecting carriers, and managing schedules to ensure timely delivery.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with supply chain and warehouse teams to align shipment schedules with production and customer demand.
Track and report on the status of shipments, and resolve any issues such as delays or damages.
Tariff and Duty Management
Analyze and assess applicable tariffs, taxes, and duties on products to ensure costeffective international trade.
Support efforts to identify duty savings opportunities, such as tariff classifications, duty drawback programs, or Free Trade Agreements FTAs.
Reporting Analytics
Develop and maintain reports on customs and logistics performance, including shipment status, cost analysis, and any compliancerelated incidents.
Provide insights to management regarding logistics efficiency, compliance risks, and costsaving opportunities.
Process Improvement
Continuously evaluate and improve logistics and customs processes for efficiency, costeffectiveness, and compliance.
Work closely with other departments e.g., procurement, finance, legal to resolve issues and streamline operations.
