LOGISTICS AND CUSTOMS ANALYST

The Logistics & Customs Analyst is responsible for managing and optimizing the movement of goods across international borders, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, and coordinating logistics operations for both imports and exports.
This role involves close collaboration with customs authorities, freight forwarders, shipping carriers, and internal teams to ensure smooth, timely, and cost-effective transportation of goods.
The ideal candidate should have expertise in customs regulations, logistics processes, and international trade compliance.
As this is a global position, advanced proficiency in English is essential to ensure effective communication across international teams.
While not a requirement, being bilingual is a valuable skill that can provide candidates with an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities Customs Compliance and Documentation.
Prepare and review customs documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and other import/export paperwork.
Ensure all shipments comply with international trade laws, customs regulations, and company policies.
Monitor and stay updated on changes in trade regulations, tariffs, and duty rates.
Communicate with customs authorities and clearing agents to resolve any compliance or clearance issues.
Logistics Coordination.
Oversee the logistics of international shipments, including arranging transportation, selecting carriers, and managing schedules to ensure timely delivery.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with supply chain and warehouse teams to align shipment schedules with production and customer demand.
Track and report on the status of shipments, and resolve any issues such as delays or damages.
Tariff and Duty Management.
Analyze and assess applicable tariffs, taxes, and product duties to ensure cost-effective international trade.
Support efforts to identify duty savings opportunities, such as tariff classifications, duty drawback programs, or Free Trade Agreements (FTAs).
?Reporting & Analytics.
Develop and maintain reports on customs and logistics performance, including shipment status, cost analysis, and any compliance-related incidents.
Provide insights to management regarding logistics efficiency, compliance risks, and cost-saving opportunities.
Process Improvement.
Continuously evaluate and improve logistics and customs processes for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance.
Work closely with other departments (e.
., procurement, finance, legal) to resolve issues and streamline operations.
Familiarity with customs regimes such as definitive, temporary, or bonded warehouse operations.
Understanding of certificate of origin requirements, including regional content analysis.
Knowledge of proving legal merchandise status through national invoices or import declarations.
Awareness of Incoterms and maritime shipments, including port clearance procedures Requerimientos Educación mínima.
