The Device Software & Services (DS2) Localization (L10n) team is part of the Amazon Devices organization, which designs and engineers high-profile consumer electronics and software.
We have produced ground-breaking devices like Alexa, Alexa Auto, blink, eero, Fire Tablet, Fire TV, Kindle, and Ring.
The DS2 L10n team is currently seeking a passionate and talented Localization Manager for our Program Management team, with a track record of delivery, ownership and execution of international projects across software and services.
Key job responsibilities The Localization Manager, Program Management manages a team of program managers who own the end-to-end localization experience for Amazon Device software, including GUI (graphic user interface), VUI (voice user interface) and related Packaging and Marketing content.
This position interfaces with feature development teams, product teams, engineering teams, QA teams and Marketing teams within the Amazon Devices organization, as well as with functional teams within the DS2 L10n team itself, such as Editorial, Engineering and Quality Assurance.
A day in the life As the Manager, Program Management, you will play a pivotal role in leading and developing a team of highly experienced program managers to achieve critical business objectives such as device marketplace launches and organizational goals.
You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders in tech and non-tech roles including Engineering, QA, Legal, Marketing and Product to drive the Localization roadmap.
You will be responsible for leading resource allocation, AI/LLM projects, roadmap prioritization and strategic communication.
You will proactively manage change control, remove obstacles and provide guidance to ensure seamless delivery.
You will contribute to operational planning, maintain/manage communication with Amazon Devices leadership, and contribute to scaling the Devices Localization program.
About the team The Device Software & Services (DS2) Localization (L10n) team is responsible for delivering culturally, linguistically, and contextually accurate localized Software, Marketing, and Packaging experiences for supported marketplaces across Amazon Device families, including Alexa, Alexa Auto, blink, eero, Kindle, Fire TV, Ring, and Tablet.
We scale by investing in tooling, automation, AI and processes that increase localization efficiency across all supported product lines.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 5+ years of team management experience - 5+ years of program or project management experience - 5+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience - 5+ years of cross functional project delivery experience - Experience owning program strategy and end to end delivery - Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to drive improvements - Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization - Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership - Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Translation, Localization Management, Business Administration, Engineering or Marketing PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience delivering cross functional projects - Experience in cost/benefit analysis of project proposals - Knowledge of Microsoft Excel (macros, pivots, lookups) at an advanced level Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
