100% Remote in Mexico Duration.
6 Months Plus Extensions Purpose of the Job.
The Lead/Senior Mainframe System Programmer is responsible for managing the infrastructure software and systems of our mainframe and midrange computing platforms.
This highly technical role requires specialization in operating system software and one or more subsystems or business applications, such as CICS, DB2, RACF, and Policy Administration systems.
This position is accountable for the support and administration of highly complex computing systems, providing consulting services on systemwide issues, and serving as a senior technical mentor to the Systems Programming staff.
Essential Functions.
· Project Leadership.
Assist with the leadership and coordination of large projects involving the implementation of computing technology.
· System Design Oversight.
Provide oversight and review of complex computing systems design to ensure adherence to corporate systems standards and industry best practices.
· Standards Review.
Conduct periodic reviews of computing systems standards and procedures to ensure alignment with current industry standard methodologies and implementation practices.
· Technical Leadership.
Act in a leadership capacity, participating in the evaluation and implementation of advanced computing systems, including mainframe, midrange, and open systems technologies.
· Performance Management.
Assist in ensuring that computing systems' performance meets or exceeds established service-level commitments.
· Emerging Technologies.
Lead the research, evaluation, and implementation of advanced or emerging computing systems software to ensure alignment with state-of-the-art technologies.
· Disaster Recovery.
Ensure that disaster recovery strategies are robust and aligned across the enterprise, taking a leadership role in ensuring successful recovery processes.
