HEAD OF ENGINEERING, AMAZON DEVICES DEMAND SCIENCE OPTIMIZATION (DSO)

DESCRIPTION We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Engineering to establish and run our new site in Mexico City.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in building and managing a team of engineers and delivering on our programs while ensuring that our team culture is effectively implemented and embraced in this new location.
In this pivotal role, you will leverage your extensive experience in building high-performing teams and launching scalable and resilient systems in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

- Fluent in both Spanish and English.

About the team Demand Science Optimization (DSO) builds products that automate data-driven decision-making for demand planning across build, allocation, and consumer sales.
This includes determining optimal pricing to maximize CP (or minimize promo spend), maximize in-stock rates while meeting consumer demand, as well as gauging consumer willingness to pay for subscription and physical products.
We build cutting-edge machine learning, OR, and modeling systems to achieve these goals.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 10+ years of engineering experience - 5+ years of engineering team management experience - 10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience - Experience partnering with product or program management teams - Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience partnering with product and program management teams - Experience designing and developing large scale, high-traffic applications
