This position reports to Group Head of Account Management – Materials & Minerals Your role and responsibilities In this position, you will be part of a global organization dedicated to helping the mining industry achieve its energy transition goals.
As a Global Account Executive, your primary responsibility will be to foster close and trusted relationships at the senior and C-suite levels while acting as an ambassador for customer-centricity within ABB.
Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the business to define development initiatives and create investment proposals for our divisions to capture business value.
Your mandate will combine driving profitable growth and fostering innovation within a complex international environment, while also supporting our accounts on their journey toward sustainable mining.
We are looking for purpose-driven individuals who are curious to learn, adaptable, and have a proven track record of success in strategic customer-facing roles.
Key responsibilities.
In this role, you will be responsible for understanding the critical business drivers of the account and its broader business environment.
You will interpret their impact and opportunity for ABB and create a comprehensive strategy to drive success.
To be successful, you bring strategic vision and a deep understanding of how to leverage ABB’s capabilities to meet the customer’s needs while ensuring mutual growth.
You will establish and lead an account team across multiple countries within ABB, maintaining a regular cadence of communication and hands-on engagement with local businesses.
You will take accountability for ensuring high customer satisfaction by proactively addressing challenges and fostering long-term trust with the customer.
To excel, you will manage and motivate results-oriented virtual account teams by influencing, coaching, mentoring, and engaging team members.
You will be accountable for encouraging and developing talent across ABB while planning succession for your team to ensure continuity and excellence.
You will also take responsibility for creating and managing plans to grow or maintain business with the customer.
This includes building a solid business case for initiatives and managing their return on investment for ABB.
You will identify must-win opportunities in coordination with local teams and define annual sales targets for the account.
To ensure success, you will use a structured follow-up process to achieve these sales and profitability goals.
You will lead and orchestrate high-level engagements, building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders at senior and C-suite levels, both within ABB and the customer’s organization.
You will act as an orchestrator and ambassador, ensuring seamless collaboration between ABB Divisions and the customer.
You will be responsible for solving problems, eliminating barriers, and improving the ease of doing business for the customer.
Additionally, you will ensure high-quality, accurate data entry and maintenance within ABB’s CRM tools and will report progress regularly to your stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability.

You have demonstrable knowledge of basic finance and a solid understanding of financial statements, coupled with a proven track record of designing and implementing strategies that deliver tangible results.
Your expertise in stakeholder management, influencing, and negotiation allows you to effectively navigate complex business environments and drive success.
You are a curious and adaptable individual, with a willingness to learn and grow in the face of challenges.
Your excellent English communication skills, along with experience working with senior leaders, enable you to establish trust and build meaningful relationships.
You have a background in coaching and engaging customer-facing professionals, fostering their growth and success within the organization.
In addition, you are willing to travel extensively, up to 70% depending on account needs, and possess a global mindset to operate effectively in diverse environments.
While a business degree is a plus, your strategic vision and commitment to delivering results are what will set you apart in this role.
