This position reports to Head of External Communications, Smart Power Your role and responsibilities As the External Communications Specialist for Smart Power’s Low Voltage Systems and Power Protection Units, you will be responsible for positioning and promoting these key business units towards external stakeholders.
Our Low Voltage Systems and Power Protection business units are experiencing strong growth, delivering worldwide for major data center customers and energy transition projects.
You will work closely with key stakeholders to design, develop and ensure high impact positioning for our complete Low Voltage Systems solutions and our UPS portfolio.
You will lead communications for business transformations.
You will be responsible for content and copy for online and offline touchpoints and outlets – including news releases, expert Q&As, thought leadership pieces and customer stories, as well as other media and social media opportunities.
You will ensure participation at events is activated on social media.
Furthermore, you will be responsible for aligning and coordinating your work with the communications objectives of Smart Power and the Electrification Business Area.
Your position reports to Head of External Communications, Smart Power Your responsibilities include.
• Responsible for developing and managing Media and Content strategies and annual plans, in alignment with Division objectives and priorities to help grow the business • Support the continuous improvement of processes and best practices to optimize presence in both trade and business media, in collaboration with the business area, Group Media and PR local teams.
• Responsible for tailoring of ABB’s messages and themes such as Sustainability.
• Apply the ABB message framework to ensure communications address customer challenges in engaging and professional manner for multiple stakeholders.
• Create a variety of high quality copywritten pieces for online and offline touchpoints and outlets – including press releases, blogs, digital content such as website copy, advertorial features and other media opportunities  • Identify key wins, successes, case studies, and technology applications - highlight them by producing/writing strong and creative content including thought leadership articles, press releases, and web articles.
Collaborate with Comms colleagues to maximize their exposure and impact.
• Develop strong relationships with key trade media (including print, web and digital) to raise visibility and improve presence around key topics of interest  • Support the organization with questions/issues related to Media and PR communications, including advice on development of content, leadership speeches, pictures and videos  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of media presence.
Initiate and implement improvement actions.
Qualifications for the role Degree in journalism or relevant field 10+ years’ experience in Media and Content Native English language skills Confident understanding of technical content Outstanding copy writing skills Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with ability to develop content for a wide range of communications channels to effectively deliver the appropriate message  Proven experience in proactive and reactive media relations and content management  Experience of working with trade media  In-depth knowledge and experience of all aspects of external communications mix  More about us We value people from different backgrounds.
