EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR THE SENIOR MANAGER OF THE LAKE CHAPALA SOCIETY

Summary
The Executive Director is the senior manager of The Lake Chapala Society LCS, and is in effect the Chief Operating Director of the organization. The position reports directly to the LCS Board of Directors.

The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the operations, programs, budget and strategic plan of the LCS. Other key duties include leadership of fundraising, marketing, and community outreach.

The Executive Director recommends to the Board and ensures the implementation of LCS strategies, plans and policies. The Executive Director ensures the efficient management of resources, programs, and services to the clientele and operations of LCS.
Responsibilities
In accordance with policies established by the Board of Directors, the Executive Director assumes the following responsibilities
To recommend to the Board strategies, plans and policies such as
Strategic, marketing, and fundraising annual action plans.
Strategic and accountability plans for all senior staff.
Annual budget and inyear revisions.
Policies governing the external environment of the LCS marketing, operations, resources human, material, technological, financial, programs and services to clientele.

To support LCS Governance by implementing the decisions of the Board
To manage the operations, resources and services of the LCS.
To play an active role in fundraising initiatives
To approve the hiring, training mentoring and evaluation and if required, dismissal of LCS personnel.
To secure board approval for all job descriptions and hires.
To manage the selection, training, mentoring and evaluation of the extensive cadre of LCS volunteers.
To ensure effective liaison with the media, the government, and the public and private sector.
To promote the activities, programs and services of the LCS.
To be responsible for communicating effectively with the Board and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function properly and to make informed decisions.
To design and manage secure access to the database of LCS documentation.
To be responsible for the design, implementation and operation of programs, activities and events that carry out the LCSs mission.
To enhance LCSs image by being active and visible in the community and by working closely with other professional, civic and private organizations.
To oversee the use and allocation of LCSs physical plant and real estate assets and recommend to the Board any acquisitions, dispositions or enhancements thereof.

To assume any other relevant responsibilities assigned by the Board

Professional Qualifications Required
Demonstrated experience and familiarity with social media and productivity applications Word, Excel, database applications, etc..
Experience in working with a Board of Directors.
Maintain strong positive relations between staff and board members.
High level strategic thinking and planning.
Ability to envision and convey the LCSs mission, values and strategic future to the staff, Board, membership, volunteers and donors.
Demonstrated ability to oversee and successfully collaborate with staff and volunteers.
A history of successfully generating new revenue streams and improving financial results.
Active fundraising experience. Excellent donor relations skills and understanding of the funding community.
Previous success in establishing relationships with individuals and influential groups including funders, partner agencies and volunteers.
Solid project management abilities, including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation.
Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision making and reporting.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Strong public speaking ability.
