More about the role This is an exciting job opportunity for you to light the way as a LED Electronics Development Engineer of our R&D team in Tijuana, México.
You will be responsible for creating the next generation of new leading-edge innovations in LED Modules and LED drivers for the Americas Lighting market by being part of our talented R&D team in Tijuana and working in a highly diverse, dynamic, and cross-functional team.
What You Will do Work from specific objectives and use the NPDL (New Product Development and Launch) Process to design and develop new LED modules and LED drivers that meet performance, quality, time-to-market, and cost targets as specified by Product Management & Marketing.
Work closely with Architects to ideate and simulate the new innovation concepts.
Design and conduct rapid prototyping and testing of the new LED modules and LED drivers and validate performance of prototype samples with Customers by working closely with Product Management & Marketing.
Conduct competitor benchmarking and tear down analysis.
Cover all facets of the development activity from feasibility review to final product release to production by working in a cross-functional team.
Actively participate in Design Reviews, DFMEA’s, and PFMEA’s for the Products being developed.
Deliver the TPD (Technical Product Documentation) and required quality results.
Generate accurate engineering test reports and related documents and present the information as needed.
Interface closely with product managers, architects, and customers to validate product and market requirements.
Maintain good communication with all levels of management and global team members.
Participate in the initial production phases of product/process design and all subsequent manufacturing inquiries and problems.
Develop and support continuous improvement projects or processes that further simplifies our work and improves our efficiency.

Bachelor’s degree completed in Electrical / Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
1 to 5 years of experience in the job offered or in a similar position involving Electronic Products.
Good knowledge of LED devices, technologies, and Printed Circuit Board designs.
Good knowledge of electrical and electronic circuit design and experience in building and troubleshooting of power electronic circuits.
Optical, mechanical, and thermal engineering knowledge is a plus.
Basic knowledge of Project Management methods and tools.
Familiarity with use of lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power analyzers, multi-meters, function generators, and with lab functions.

Familiarity with design simulation and analysis tools such as Pspice, LTspice, MathCAD, etc.
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
An excellent communicator and highly organized.
Ability to learn quickly, handle multiple projects, and work with minimal supervision in a cross-functional team environment.
Fluent in both English and Spanish is MANDATORY.
