What you’ll do The VCUK Collections Managers own the debt management activities including debt recovery strategies, policies, and risk assessments as well as debt collection agency management and performance monitoring.
The VCUK Collections Manager will be responsible for overseeing a team of Collections Specialists and report to the Head of Collections in Sweden.
We are looking for someone who can commute between both offices in Daventry and Maidenhead.
This is an essential part of the role.
Your responsibilities will include.
Ensuring the delivery of fair consumer outcomes, including protecting vulnerable customers, provide good consumer outcomes and act in the best interest of VCUK and its consumers Developing, maintaining, reviewing, and improving VCUK collections strategies, routines, processes, and policies, including application, evaluation and outcomes of the Consumer Duty Horizon scanning of the regulatory collections landscape Performance monitoring of all stages of the collections process performed by internal and external parties Overseeing the performance of external debt collection agencies (including contract management, monitoring activities and outcomes) Overseeing and supporting the continuous development of the team Performing a certified function; this role is considered a “Certified Function” due to the involvement in regulated activities.
A regular assessment will be conducted to certify that the Collections Manager is suitable to perform their responsibilities and in line with conduct expectations Managing communications and direct interactions with the UK regulator, FCA, on regulatory matters, including debt collection figures and applicable complaints Liaising with Compliance and other internal departments to ensure outcomes are regularly assessed and to ensure Policies and Procedures are updated   What you’ll bring The successful candidate will have.
Substantial experience in Debt Management within a financial services firm A high level of knowledge and understanding of UK regulations and consumer protection A deep understanding of collections, arrears and forbearance practices, with experience in developing processes, policies and routines, as well as align these with business objectives and regulatory requirements A proven ability to lead a team and develop a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and independency and approach issues with a problem-solving mindset The ability to work collaboratively cross functions and teams and develop a strong partnership with stakeholders and other functions Strong analytical skills with an ability to identify and mitigate incidents Excellent verbal and written communication skills, towards internal and external stakeholders   This role will require regulatory references under the SMCR and a CRB check as a certified person, undertaken by Volvo Cars UK Limited as per the application process.
