In one sentence We are seeking a skilled and experienced HP/ANSI COBOL Developer with a preferred background in OpenVMS to join our dynamic team.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of COBOL programming, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions.
What will your job look like? Develop, maintain, and support HP/ANSI COBOL applications (Preference - running on OpenVMS systems) Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements.
Design, code, test, debug, and document software solutions.
Perform system analysis, debugging, and performance tuning.
Ensure code quality and maintain coding standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to COBOL applications and APIs.
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
Provide technical support and guidance to junior developers.
Work with stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business requirements and project timelines.
Preferred experience in OpenVMS operating system.
All you need is...
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
6 to 8 years of experience in COBOL development.
Proficiency in designing and developing COBOL applications.
Knowledge of database management systems (DBMS) such as Oracle, SQL, or similar.
Familiarity with version control systems and software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Nice to have Experience with DCL scripting.
Experience with OpenVMS utilities and command procedures.
Knowledge of Oracle RDB database management.
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Tuxedo or Rest APIs knowledge Why you will love this job.
