ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, RELATIONSHIP MANAGER

Descripción de la oferta de empleo

About the Role.
Grade Level (for internal use).
12 The Role/The Team.
As the Associate Director - Relationship Manager, you will join a diverse, inclusive, and professional Market Outreach team responsible for growing and maintaining relationships with the world’s largest and most influential asset managers, asset owners and market influencers at S&P Global Ratings.
We are a global team of 26 individuals, and an integral part of S&P Global Ratings with a strong market presence.
At our core, we exist to build long-term, strategic relationships with senior buy-side investors.
The role can be based in either Sao Paulo or Mexico City and can be, in part, undertaken remotely through flexible working with a requirement to be based within the office twice a week.
The role will report to the head of Latin America Market Outreach.
Your Impact.
In this role, you will work collaboratively with global Market Outreach, Analytical and Commercial colleagues, as well as other stakeholders.
You will focus on two principal areas of market engagement and interaction.
(1) global scale ratings through regular interaction with key buy side fixed-income investors (asset managers and insurance companies) as well as other key market influencers; and (2) the development and execution of a plan for National Scale Ratings (NSRs) which provide a rank ordering of credit risk within a country.
The NSR Plan will be consistent with the overall Market Outreach Plan and priorities but will focus on three specific pillars germane to NSRs.
Mexico.
Pension funds Brazil.
Traditional investors and intermediaries with a more acute focus on the retail market For the entire region.
Working with the regional banks and merchant banking firms who may be at the nexus of local issuers and investors (as examples, Banco Bradesco, Banco Pactual or Banco Itau).
While Brazil and Mexico are the two largest markets, we will also work to expand our Ratings presence in other markets like Colombia and Peru by focusing on the largest buy-side investors and market influencers across all rating sectors.
A key KPI will be to share market insights gained from investor, influencer and other market participant interactions with both the analytical and commercial teams within the compliance guidelines.
You will be partnering with senior stakeholders across high profile businesses including analytical and commercial practices, managing several investor communities, facilitating engagement, and delivering relevant insights back into the business in a compliant manner.
In turn, you will get daily exposure to investors from the world’s most influential asset managers and banking influencers including high profile Portfolio Managers and Credit Analysts.
Given the nature of the role, you will be given every opportunity to sharpen your communication and influencing skills.
Responsibilities.
Collaborating with the Market Outreach area manager on the continued development and penetration of key fixed-income credit investors of the global scale ratings business which include major asset managers and global insurance managers.
Development and execution of an outreach strategy to a portfolio of buy-side investor contacts and other key influencers of NSRs based in the Latin America region, with a key focus on Brazil and Mexico.
Organization of outreach activities including scheduling and hosting in-person and virtual events; one-to-one interactions, and other engagement with investor contacts in order to both facilitate engagement with the analytical teams and to generate actionable insights for the analytical and commercial practices.
Achieve Annual KPI targets of, for example, activity levels, engagement, and insights with the investor contacts.
(Note.
The position is not responsible for, or measured by, commercial targets such as revenue generated, or sales made.) Contribute to the development of priorities and understanding of market trends etc.
that indicate opportunities or highlighting insights that may be valuable from an analytical or commercial perspective.
Coordinate with partners such as the Marketing team, and other stakeholders to maximize the impact and effectiveness of market engagement.
What We’re Looking For.
5-7 years of relevant industry experience.
Fluency in English, Portuguese and Spanish communication skills to facilitate effective market interaction.
Strong knowledge of the investor industry and regional market, latest developments/issues, and ideally an understanding of S&P Ratings’ business and products.
Flexibility to travel within the Latin America region for in-person meetings with investors and colleagues approximately for 5-10 days a month.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to connect and communicate with all (commercial and analytical) levels internally within an organization as well as externally at a senior level.
An interest or experience in Sustainable Finance or Private Markets would be positive, as these are key areas of focus and growth for future development.
Comfortable in communicating with senior investment individuals.
