What we offer You will become a member of one of our agile development teams with great team spirit working with OverTheAir (OTA) technology.
The teams are responsible for both designing and verifying the generic OTA Software Download (SWDL) technologies on a system level within Volvo Cars.
In this position you will build and maintain a wide personal network with designers within many different system areas of the vehicle, as well as backend systems and customer service departments.

The OTA teams are part of the Common Base Technology (CBT) department.

You will use your deep knowledge to create and enhance the OTA technologies in the vehicle and surrounding systems.
Your main responsibilities together with the team include.
E2E function responsibilities for vehicle SW update over-the-air (OTA).
From Software packages created in the backend system, transferred remotely (Over the air) to specific vehicles, and updated the vehicle functions.
Create and maintain OTA vision.
System Development.
Develop/improve the OTA system solution from deployment backend IT systems to car specific installation.
Cooperate and spread knowledge to implementation teams, suppliers, CI team, aftermarket and backend system teams etc.
Daily work includes.
Create/maintain requirements to areas affected by OTA.
Discuss how future vision can be evolved to requirements.
Discuss and agree on technical solutions with requirement receivers.
Handle requirement deviations.
Handle issues/problems found in development/aftermarket (maintenance work).
Technical scope includes.
Understand & discuss how backend system functionality is used to support OTA.
SW packages are set up and released to specific vehicles.
SW package delivery quality.
Understand & discuss how vehicle platforms/architectures shall/can support OTA.
Vehicle connectivity towards the backend.
How to download and install vehicle SW update.

We believe that you have the following basic skills and qualifications.

c.
degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent Knowledge of distributed electrical systems and electrical architecture Experience in architecture and systemization of SW development, preferably within OTA / SWDL area Excellent communication skills in English both in speech and writing since you will be working in a very distributed surrounding   The following skills and qualifications are a plus.
