Job Overview TE Connectivity’s Engineering Project Management Teams manage cross functional engineering projects.
They work with Product Management, Sales, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, and other functions across TE to assure projects meet financial, schedule and customer expectations.
They are responsible for defining and creating project schedules, portfolio management, communication and execution of programs, identifying resource constraints and working with management for resolution, while adhering to LeanPD processes.
What your background should look like.
Qualifications.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or 5 years or more of new product engineering design, project management experience, and/or manufacturing experience preferred.
PMP certification may be accepted in lieu of an engineering degree.
• PMP Certification or CAPM Certification (must have one or the other).
Agile Scrum certification may be accepted in lieu of PMP or CAPM.
• Good working knowledge and experience with connector, harness or integrated systems or manufacturing processes (injection molding, plating, stamping, machining, etc.) • Deep understanding of IATF and/or VDA 6.
• Experience at Tier-1 automotive supplier is preferred • Functional knowledge of cost models and P&L statements • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and lead regional cross-functional teams • Experience with change and risk management • Effective communicator, leader and negotiator.
Able to communicate complex technical details to the team • Knowledge of DFMEA and PFMEA • Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) • Knowledge of general automotive APQP process.
• Able to travel up to % locally and internationally As a Staff Project Manager, you will.
• Achieve On-Time, On-Cost, On-Quality project performance objectives and report out progress.
• Oversee, contribute, and maintain action items in technical conversations with the customer.
• Manage project scheduling, project finance, and gap closure requirements as needed by holding team members accountable.
• Achieve scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
• Lead project Gate Reviews.
• Resolve project conflicts and establish escalation path on all projects.
• Clearly communicate roles, expectations, and accountabilities to all team members on a regular basis.
• Act as an example for best practices in project management at TE.
Most immediately, you will.
• Join the project management team and begin transfer of existing projects from one existing project manager.
• Manage our customer so that they are providing TE with the necessary deliverables so that TE can achieve on time, on cost and on quality results to their expectations.
• Work closely with all internal and external stakeholders coordinating product, process, and project changes.
