Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.
his segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network.
The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications.
The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Purpose of the position.
Automate network devices and solutions to align with Corning’s technology standards and meet the connectivity needs of our businesses.
Advanced cloud platform proficiency and strong experience with infrastructure-as-code, with emphasis on Ansible, Terraform and desire to apply automation to all aspects of network cloud administration.
Responsibilities     Solid understanding of multi-account and multi-region network topology and routing with contribution to overall architecture including intra-DC, Inter-DC and Internet Connectivity.
Provides advanced level engineering design functions      Provides trouble resolution and serves as point of technical escalation on complex problems.
Creates presentations and seeks IT and business management approval and acceptance of significant replacements or reconfigurations of major cloud and network technologies serving the enterprise.
Act as technical leader and provide technical guidance to fellow engineers within the organization.
Comprehensive knowledge of AWS and Azure Cloud networking.
Advance knowledge with Infrastructure as Code and desire to apply automation to all aspects of the network cloud administration and operations.
Test, implement, document and support network solutions including LAN, WAN and Cloud.
For these services the candidate will be.
Documenting technical requirements as part of overall network solutions design.
Design multi-region, multi-cloud network automation and services      Creating, reviewing and/or vetting technical functional specifications and low-level network solutions design documentation, ensuring those are complete, correct and kept current      Assisting with implementation of upgrades and enhancements to WAN services, including communications, preparation of documentation and training      Participating in root cause analysis on incidents, helping to drive identification of preventative actions meant to ensure problems don't recur, and delivering on the tasks within those actions.
Education 4-year degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience   Work Experience.
7+ years of experience analyzing requirements for implementing, supporting, and troubleshooting network devices/functions/tools/processes in a large enterprise or Telecommunications environment  5+ years performing network automation deployments in large enterprise environment.
