Mercer  is seeking candidates for the following position based in the Mexico City office and be onsite 3 days a week:   Sr.
D ata Governance Engineer What can you expect? A Data Governance Engineer is a professional responsible for configuring and implementing DG features and procedures on Mercer’s Data Governance Platform.
Focus on Data Governance lifecycle, you will establish engineering processes and standards to onboard logical and physical assets linked to Mercer’s business applications.
You will be responsible for ensuring metadata and governance tools are onboarded onto Mercer technology ecosystem in compliance with architecture principles and standards followed by MMC technology.
You will partner with systems and data architects to establish a regular technology cadence in updating systems and metadata assets needing to be on the enterprise metadata catalog platform.
You will partner with business to share tools functionality and help them onboard assets to the platform.

Understand Metadata management principles and best practices and lead metadata onboarding and data quality engagements for the organization Liaise with Information Security and DevOps to onboard new products linked to data and metadata management operations including Data Quality scorecards and dashboards solutions.
Conduct PoCs and write their outcomes as whitepapers and share the same with the wider Mercer Technology community.
Influence design changes including data model extensions to incorporate Mercer specific needs to enable a sound Data Governance Platform Contribute to establishment of the operating model on how to manage metadata assets and catalogs for all LOBs.
Establish L3 Support process and/or work as Product SME in support of the Data Governance tool suite Influence and partner in propagating shift left mentality in maintenance of the business data terms, critical data elements as well as business rules.
What you need to have.
Deep Understanding of Data Management Principles and Data Governance Lifecycle and Standards Hands-on experience in enterprise integration using tools like Nifi, Python, kafka, Informatica and metadata management tools like Collibra, Informatica CDGC, AXON, EDC or any other industry standard tool.
Knowledge of Big Data / Data Lakehouse / traditional RDBMS / Vector Databases / Graph Databases and Industry standard data modeling tools Self-motivated to excel in a remote position, collaborating effectively with a remote team You are used to working and communicating with both business and technical stakeholders at varying levels of seniority Ability to support self-governance process by instilling discipline and establishing cadence with our business SME partners to ensure upload information assets generated in support of a solution What makes you stand out? Deep Knowledge of data management principles, tools and technologies Strong ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and comfortable in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines A self-starter with a n inquisitive mind set and a track record of seeking out and implementing new technologies and architecture and design patterns.
