SENIOR DBA MSSQL SERVER AND CI/CD - REMOTO

Responsibilities Manage SQL Server databases from development to production systems. Manage and deploy databases in the cloud (AWS, Azure) and on-premises. Update and use automation tools to patch and deploy new databases and upgrade existing ones. Modify code in Self-Service tools that enable development teams to manage simple database operations and configurations. Define and use CI/CD pipeline configurations and deployment automation tools. Example: Gitlab and Gitlab runners. Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure performance, availability, and security. Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing evidence-based problem resolutions at the database level. Assist development teams with query tuning and schema refinements. Maintain stability and security by applying Quarterly Patches and upgrades  Support and troubleshoot database backups. Provide capacity planning of system resources to support database growth. Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems. Document and share domain and technical expertise. Examples of Tasks Modify Python code to automate database tasks. Build new AG clusters with 3 nodes, 10TB database, witness server, monitoring, alerting, etc. Troubleshoot basic performance and blocking sessions. Patching and upgrade databases. Use GitLab Runners (CI/CD) to deploy new databases. 90% on-prem, VMs. 10% occasional use of AWS or Azure. Additional tasks as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent training and experience. 3+ years of experience supporting MS SQL Server databases in a production environment. Experience using native SQL Server database monitoring and troubleshooting tools. Experience with SQL Server backups, restores, and recovery models. Experience with Windows Server required. Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options available for SQL Server. Example: Availability Groups. PowerShell scripting and troubleshooting skills. Good teamwork, decision-making, documentation, and analytical skills. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. MCSA, MCTS, and MCITP certifications are a plus.
