QUALITY ENGINEER SR. ((PROBLEM SOLVING EXPERT)

I.
Job Summary.
Interact, guide and provide support to the different operations segments of the operations (Quality, Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Etc.) to solve critical external and internal quality complains incidents and concerns, utilizing the corresponding and adequate problem solving techniques (Shainin, DOE, Red X, Etc.).
Direct interaction with end customers if necessary.
II.
Primarily Job Responsibilities.
1.
Coordination of problem solving activities in accordance to established methodologies.
Proper documentation per established guidelines.
Timely communication and updates on Customer returns and complaints in coordination with quality assistant manager/quality manager.
Stop /reject material for non-compliance in product or procedure affecting potential quality or test   compliance.
Supervise quality assurance auditors to assure correct documentation and compliance with control plan.
Write and approve test standards for 100 % check stations and assure they are properly carried out.
Implementation and enforcement of quality audit system, training and coaching of QRQC.
Propose and enforce use of error proofing devices in the areas of responsibility.
Monitor 7.
Monitoring and control of deviations in the areas of responsibility (no production with unauthorized process, tools, machines, parts, etc.) 7.
Traceability documentation for all product to assure total traceability of product and process inspections records.
Development 8.
  Maintenance of PCPs.
Review and approval of flow charts.
Active participation in development and ongoing reviews of PFMEAs.
Verification of Measurement Systems compliance to requirements and calibration schedule.

  Develop and extend layered audits.
8.
  Monitor new programs “safe launch” and containment plans and develop as necessary with new program engineer.

  Performs the tear down Analysis for current products.
8.
  Preparation and submission of reports per specific requirements.
Product audit reports and summaries.
8.
  As needed preparation of PPAP’s per AIAG guidelines, timely re-submissions as required and follow up on approvals.
The Responsibility related to the Quality system.
9.
  Coordination and monitoring of SPC activities in the areas of responsibility Policies and Procedures.
Assure compliance with 6 sigma Quality.

Continuous monitoring of areas of responsibility to ensure compliance to Quality System requirements (rev.
level of products match approved level, material identification, control of non-conforming material.
9.
  Suggestions for improvement of Quality related procedures via enhanced procedures, methods and audit programs.
9.
  Supervision, training   and development of Quality personnel (quality assurance auditors) 9.
  Organize quality and PDCA reviews (plant QRQC) for plant Manager Direction.
9.
  Assure daily quality engineers quality tools used in APQP procedures as required by program development.
9.
  Be consistent with use of PFMEA and, inclusive of LLC’s.
9.
  Risk assessment of process, product and supplier changes on product characteristics that might affect form, fit or function.

  Definition of gages required and control under the calibration program 9.
  Lead and assist Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement Activities of production supervision to assure timely response to production quality issues.

  Ensure that personal protection equipment is in correct usage and report any kind of anomaly that potentially can generate a risk condition.
The Responsibility related for environmental.

  Be in line with the environmental policy, as well as the environmental issues, objectives and goals that are directly involved to the position.

  Active participation in environmental improvement projects.

  Enforcement of Plant’s Policies and Procedures in the areas of responsibility, at all levels.
III.
Competences required to perform the job (functional and interpersonal skills).
Professional Competences.
5 Core Tools, Product Knowledge, Project Management, Audit skills¸ Quality management, knowledge and understanding of AIAG requirements (PPAP, MSA, SPC, etc), knowledge and understanding of IATF (or similar standard) requirements, knowledge of statistical  engineering techniques.
General Competences.
Leadership skills, result and Customer Orientation, Agility, Adaptability, Communication, Interpersonal Skills, Problem Solving.

Work Experience.
At least 4 years’ experience in high volume manufacturing environment Experience in Quality field in automotive environment preferable    VI.
Certifications / Training.
PROBLEM SOLVING (Shainin, Red X, DOE Methodologies) BLACK BELT Certified is a plu s MSA PPAP FMEA PM-APQP VDA                 (plus) IATF      (plus) English 80% at least Puesto.
