We are looking for a talented **Product Engineering Specialist** to join our team specializing in **Engineering** for our **CUMMINS** in **Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua**.
Job Description.
This product-focused position performs established technical tasks at the sub-system and/or component level for current and future products within a given business unit or corporate area.
This role involves work across many steps in the product life cycle, often acting as a central point of coordination and decision-making between product line engineers, customer teams, systems engineers, purchasing, suppliers, and manufacturing.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways.
+ Develop and manage detailed product specifications to ensure product quality and performance.
+ Lead and complete material cost reduction projects to optimize product cost and enhance value.
+ Manage BOM in Oracle, ensuring accuracy and alignment with product requirements.
+ Release and manage new part numbers, coordinating with relevant departments to ensure timely and accurate updates.
+ Outsource and manage product validation processes to confirm that products meet required specifications and performance standards.
+ Obtain input from technical managers, project leaders, product engineers, and suppliers to make informed product decisions.
+ Apply and refine processes such as Engineering Standard Work (ESW), iDFMEA, and Failure Incident Review Group (FIRG) to enhance product quality and decision-making.
+ Leadership and Project Management + Lead the development and improvement of work processes within the business unit or site.
+ Provide guidance and support to project teams, including less experienced engineers, to influence technical direction and drive project success.
To be successful in this role you will need the following.
+ Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT) and interpretation of technical drawings and geometries.
+ Experienced in mechanical design of precision machined parts.
+ Knowledge in metallurgy and metrology.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information effectively.
+ Fluent in English with conversational and written proficiency above 80%.
+ Strong project coordination and leadership skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
+ Skilled in using computational tools and methods for product function modeling, simulation, and analysis.
+ Ability to solve complex product problems and implement data-driven solutions.
+ Proficient in technical documentation and maintaining accurate records of product development activities.
+ Experienced in product configuration and change management.
+ Good experience working with customers and suppliers.
+ Capable of working collaboratively in team environments and influencing technical direction.
