We are currently looking for a  PostgresSQL/Oracle DBA Consultant  to work in a mainly remote job opportunity in Mexico City.

ASAP Length.
3-4 months Experience.
The client is looking for an experienced PostgreSQL/Oracle DBA with expertise in database administration, cloud migration, performance tuning, and database security.
The role involves managing databases in on-premises and cloud environments (Azure, AWS), supporting application development, and ensuring optimal database performance and availability.
Key Responsibilities.
Database Administration.
Manage and optimize PostgreSQL and Oracle 19c databases, including installation, upgrades, backup, and recovery.
Cloud Migration.
Migrate databases from on-premises to Azure Flexible PostgreSQL servers, ensuring high availability and performance.
Performance & Monitoring.
Optimize SQL queries, troubleshoot database issues, and ensure uptime of production databases.
Security & Maintenance.
Implement database security, access control, and performance monitoring tools such as pgAudit, RMAN, Statspack, AWR, ADDM, and TKPROF.
Disaster Recovery.
Configure and manage Oracle Data Guard, Active Standby databases, ASM disks, and RAC environments for high availability.
Development Support.
Work with application teams, review SQL code, and develop stored procedures and triggers.
Automation & Scripting.
Use Unix/Shell scripting and Python for database management tasks.
Required Qualifications.
6+ years of hands-on experience as a PostgreSQL DBA.
5+ years supporting Oracle RDBMS environments.
Expertise in cloud database migration (Azure/AWS).
Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills for both PostgreSQL and Oracle.
Experience with database clustering, replication, and monitoring tools.
Soft Skills.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Languages.
