forecast raw materials and / or components required to meet the master production schedule.
manage inventory metrics.
provide timely analysis to support change on supply chain, new projects/strategy to support business unit's goal.
main activities.
responsible to ensure material availability based on forecasts; able read erp to determine and adjust parameter in mrp.
handles part/engineering changes, avoiding obsolescence and material gaps; anticipates customer’s needs.
able to handle discrete purchase as well as vmi accounts.
solve in major situations related to procurement, material control and planning.
sets controls/limits in metrics to ensure/avoid going out of control/range.
analyze and control the materials according to their inventory classification "a", "b", "c".
evaluates material forecast vs actual deliveries/stock.
takes leader's role when necessary.
