SUMMARY The Materials Planner is responsible for analyzing the materials requirements of the production plan and making sure we have materials to support it.
The materials planner is also responsible for inventory level management (excess/obsolescence).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (What you will do) Review the Master Production Schedule and analyze the critical components.
Report & follow up shortages; expedite if necessary and advise the Materials Planner supervisor and/or Master Scheduler if there is a restriction to meet the plan.
Comply with the Inventory Management (i.
.
inventory turns), logistics, import/export policies & guidelines.
Work closely with other departments to resolve BOM, QA, and RMA & invoice issues.
Report raw material days of supply on hand based on current scheduled receipts, inventories OH, at Freight forwarders or alternate warehouses (VMI, El Paso, etc.) Responsible for applying all requirements related to EMS, ISO/Green Spirit according to the position.
On regards responsibility and authority in matters of safety, hygiene, and the environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS  Bachelor’s Degree.
Proficient in English/Spanish 85% Proficient experience in Material and/or purchasing related activities such as purchase order entry, MRP calculation (Explosion & netting), expediting, ABC analysis, cycle counts, etc.
Qualitative skills such as leadership, proactive, teamwork, professional, customer service oriented.
Develop processes, flow charts, databases, internal deviations.
Complete knowledge of warehouse and inventory control policies and procedures.
General ISO knowledge JDE & APICS desirable Knowledge of materials planning, methods, processes and procedures.
Proven ability to use Computer related programs such as Excel, Power Point, Access, etc.
Capability to work under pressing business environment.
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS Experience in Manufacturing Industry on Materials, Planning and General Purchasing activities.
Experience in providing leadership across functional departmental boundaries is essential.
Significant experience in cross-functional manufacturing processes and thorough understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
General knowledge in Quality procedures & practices.
ISO , EH&S.
Excellent communication skills and unique ability to provide direction for particular situations or problems that may involve problem analysis, best option selection, and more effective and efficient resolution.
Effective delegation and follow-up skills required in order to effectively manage multiple situations and deadlines Education.
BS degree in Business Administration or Industrial Engineering.
Previous Experience.
5+ years in Materials Planning / Purchasing Areas in the Mfg.
Industry at management level.
