MANUFACTURING QUALITY ENGINEER (IN THE U.S)

Position Summary.
Under direction of the Quality Manager, the Mfg.
Quality Engineer is responsible to support the activities required to manage the daily operation of the Quality Management System to ensure Quality Objectives are met.
Education and Qualifications.
Bachelor’s degree in business, Quality, Engineering or related field preferred.
5 - 8 years' experience in a Quality related role, Automotive industry is a must.
Candidates must have a work permit in the United States (Residency or Citizenship)   Green Belt or black belt is a Plus.
Knowledge and Abilities Required competencies include a working knowledge in the following.
Calibration, handheld measuring tools & instruments Blueprint reading Data analysis and reporting   Core tools   Calibration, handheld measuring tools & instruments 8-D completion and verification SPC techniques Automotive PPAP requirements Good computer skills Good communication skills IATF certified auditor is a must.
Physical / Mental Demands and working conditions Must be able to stand for long periods of time and able to lift up to 35 pounds.
May have to work long or irregular hours in the event of an emergency or special assignment.
Must be able to problem solve, prioritize, and work well under pressure.
Light Industrial working conditions Position Duties 1.
Primary Support - Corrective Action Process Owner/Champion Team Development, Leading Teams, and Scheduling Meetings.
CAR Creation, update, follow-up, and distribution based on team’s input.
Update Customers Portals with CAR related information to assure their systems are kept up to date.
Coordination of Customer Site Sorting, Internal Sorting/Certification, Setup, and Instructions Primary Support – PPAP Management and Submissions Support customer PPAP submissions Support supplier PPAP review and approvals Assist as necessary, PPAP activities from award through the approval process Participate in the APQP process Develop Control Plans, Process Flow and PFMEA in conjunction with APQP process 3.
Quality Support Monitor and assist in managing the Quality Management System to assure KPI’s meet stated objectives.
Attend Customer Supplier Quality Meetings as required.
Maintain and Reconcile Customers Score Cards with company data to assure they match.
Travel to Customers/Suppliers as required and recommended to maintain customer satisfaction 4.
Continuous Improvement and Related Functions Work directly with Process Engineering, Tooling and Operations to continuously improve processes.
Assist in Process Change Management – Updating and maintaining appropriate quality documentation.
Primary Support - Manufacturing Quality Support Items Monitor and analyze ongoing inspection data.
Implement, monitor, and maintain statistical process control on manufacturing floor as required Work with Process Engineering to develop adequate gaging of product on manufacturing floor Creation and maintenance of Inspection Instructions for existing and new programs.
Assist in managing the 8-d Corrective Action process – cause analysis, corrective action identification, corrective action verification, and customer response         Monitoring of Part Specific Cpk Values Assist in general SPC Training for Floor Personnel Customer Quality Contact and Engineering Support for Quality Related Activities for PPAP submissions.

Assist as required in Gage Calibration and Control (internal and external) Support Gage R&R Studies and Cpk Studies Assist in other job-related activities to help support a clean, safe, and effective organization.
