The Role To support our growing data-driven initiatives, we are seeking a Linux System Engineer to join our Data Center Operations team.
You will play a critical role in designing, configuring, and maintaining state-of-the-art IT infrastructure tailored to the needs of life sciences research.
Key Responsibilities Install, maintain, upgrade and optimise the infrastructure that supports data-intensive research activities.
Maintain and support our High-Performance Compute infrastructure.
Extend our hybrid cloud storage offerings and data delivery.
Ensure the security, compliance, and scalability of the IT infrastructure.
Design custom infrastructure solutions for our scientists.
Automate common tasks with Ansible and Bash, Python, PowerShell scripting.
Identify trends and problems and plan changes to improve stability and optimize performance.
Create and maintain documentation, knowledge articles and processes.

Requirements A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
Experience with Linux-based server or storage platforms.
Knowledge of scripting and automation tools (e.
., Python, Ansible).
A critical analytical mindset and problem-solving attitude.
A proactive and collaborative way of working, with excellent communication skills.
