This position reports to Sales Manager Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for leading sales and marketing activities related to products, systems, and services within defined industry segments and selected customer accounts for the Business Line Analytical Europe within the Measurement & Analytics Division, with a primary focus on the DACH region.
This will be achieved through strategic industry engagement and consultative application development to drive approval and preference for ABB Analytical products and services.
You will collaborate with ABB sales partners where applicable, as well as ABB sales and service teams, leveraging both commercial and technical expertise to lead sales development initiatives.
In this role, you will be empowered and responsible for.
- Identifying and pursuing business opportunities and strategies for sales growth.
- Actively participating in planning and execution efforts with local, regional, and global sales management teams.
- Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with customers, partners, and support groups.
- You will also be responsible for identifying market opportunities, developing and executing sales strategies, and maintaining a sales opportunity funnel in Salesforce to achieve sales objectives.
- You will contribute to the preparation of strategic proposals and help define appropriate technical and contractual strategies aligned with the organization's objectives.
Additionally, you will provide market feedback and coordinate with internal teams to develop unique business opportunities, assessing the commercial viability of products and the resources required to bring them to market.
Main responsibilities.
- Defines, develops, and executes strategies and business plans for key segments/applications in collaboration with local sales and marketing teams, as well as global product lines, driving top-line growth across each target industry segment.
- Ensures major accounts within the segments are identified, prioritized, and actively managed, taking the lead in building and maintaining strong relationships at senior levels with key stakeholders as necessary.
- Leads selective sales efforts in close collaboration with local sales teams for key customers and strategic projects, and participates in or leads negotiations of international legal and commercial framework agreements.
- Utilizes operational intelligence, benchmarking, and analysis to identify customer needs, industry trends, best practices, product gaps, and competitor strategies.
- Translates market requirements and opportunities into actionable plans for ABB, coordinating with the Business Line, Sales units, and other relevant teams (e.
., Group/Strategic Account teams) to ensure successful implementation.
- Ensures ABB's value proposition for each target segment is clearly defined, developed, and effectively communicated both internally and externally.
- Actively strengthens ABB’s visibility by enhancing external communication for market segments in coordination with the Marketing Communications team and by participating in customer events and industry trade fairs.
- Provides regular feedback to the Business Line on market developments, emerging trends, and specific requirements.
Qualifications for the role You bring at least 5 years of sales or leadership experience, ideally within a large global or regional business environment.
Your background includes several years of working with analytical measurement, and you have a proven track record of developing and executing strategic plans that drive results in international settings.
With strong business acumen, industrial market expertise, and a customer-centric approach, you are recognized as a key team player who fosters collaboration and supports a diverse and inclusive culture.
Your fluency in both verbal and written English and German sets you apart.
