The Painted Body department within Vehicle Platform is responsible for the development of body structures and surface treatment systems for all Volvo cars.
Development work is mainly conducted within the department (built-to-print) and in close corporation with Manufacturing, Design, suppliers, and external partners.

This may be an excellent opportunity for you to take on a new challenge!   What you’ll do As a Fasteners Modelling Design Engineer you will join the design engineers’ team with expertise in joining and secure the delivery of fasteners for attachments for the entire Painted Body department.
You will work in close collaboration with technical experts, Painted Body department engineering groups and other departments.
Most desired candidates are coming with CAD background and possessing experience and knowledge in body relevant joining techniques.
Main responsibilities and tasks will be.
- Securing CAD deliveries of fasteners (Drawn Arc Welds, Flow Drill Fasteners, Blind Rivets, Ball Studs etc) for different car projects;  - Securing interfaces towards adjoining areas/departments and understanding of all the demands connected to the surrounding design area; - Understanding the overall Painted Body time plan, creating/deriving a close-range plan and deliver activities from that;   - Having close cooperation with attribute leaders (e.
., safety, durability, corrosion etc) and with manufacturing for feasibility of part production and assembly; - Keeping system updated with latest status and inform project with roadmaps in close collaboration with the team; - Running cross functional engineering meetings, leading and taking decisions within the area; - Actively participating in technical reviews with suppliers.
Moreover, in this position you will expand the knowledge and know-how within projection welded nuts & screws while developing new strategies in close collaboration with our technical experts and manufacturing engineering.
Required qualifications - High skill level in Catia V5 & Teamcenter required   - Knowledge of Sheet Metal and/or Surface Products design - Experience and knowledge in body relevant joining techniques.
Knowledge of fasteners technique is meritorious.
- Ability to analyse information and proposed solutions and to determine if the design proposals are feasible   - Fully knowledgeable and able to work independently in Volvo Product Development Processes, Systems and Tools and according to Volvo way of working   - Fully capable of securing data in all relevant systems (included, but not limited to TCE/CADBOM/VPC/KDP)   - Ability to communicate and implement innovative ideas   - Able to create schedules, identify and communicate risks to stakeholders, define risk mitigation strategies, and facilitate appropriate engineering solutions  - Fluent in written and spoken English     The above skills will make you a very good candidate, for being a great one you will need to be a colleague that empowers others and bring energy; that has the capacity to actively listening the other team members; that is able of building good relationships and of growing a network of helpful colleagues; that acts in a proactive, positive and ethical attitude in all the situations.
