Provide detailed analysis and strategic recommendations to guide business decisions in the power sector for Cemex’s cement operations.
Main Responsibilities Analyze and propose short, medium and long term power initiatives under different scenarios (PPA, CAPEX, Leasing), improving the current CO2 roadmap that will lead us to achieve our Specific Scope 2 Emissions and Clean Electricity targets to .
Assist in the development and implementation of financial models to analyze the identified initiatives and provide recommendations on the ones that should be prioritized based on financial results.
Help draft and negotiate commercial agreements, such as Term Sheets, Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Leasing and service agreements.
Work and coordinate with corporate staff and regional operational areas, including finance, legal, tax, accounting, sustainability, operations and technical, R&D, among others in the development of initiatives.
Assist developing materials for top management meetings, including Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and other events.
Position Challenges Help achieve our Scope 2 specific emissions target of no more than 24 kgCO2/t by and a Clean Electricity share of 65% by .
Follow-up power and fuel markets across all Cemex’s geographic regions.
Present financial information to management in way that can be easily analyzed and used for managerial decisions.
Work with different operational areas and cultures, handle short deadlines and last-minute urgent requirements.
Interpersonal skills - Teamwork – Good communication skills.
Qualifications Languages.
Advanced English and Spanish.
Academic Background.
Major in Engineering or Finance preferably with a Master’s degree.
Areas of expertise Energy project development, Strategic Planning, Finance.
Technical Skills required by role.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Financial and data modeling, business intelligence.
Soft Skills Strong presentation skills, public speaking, self-motivated, self-driven, analytical, critical thinking, planning skills.
Internal/External Relations INTERNAL All CEMEX department and geographies.
EXTERNAL Developers, Investors, Lawyers, Consultants, Government employees, Data Providers.
