BUSINESS APPLICATION CONSULTANT

The Business Application Consultant is a key member within the Thomson Reuters Legal Professional Services business unit and is responsible for engaging with customers as the solution expert during their implementations, and in this role is instrumental in contributing to successful projects in this portfolio.
The Business Application Consultant’s primary responsibility is to prepare and to deliver consulting services which bring-to-life the capabilities of the solution to improve our customers’ business processes.
About the Role In this opportunity as Business Application Consultant, you will.
Provide billable consulting services to clients (predominantly law firms) in the form of process and solution design, configuration, assistance with user acceptance testing, classroom training, go-live support, month end closing and balancing Lead the functional requirements gathering for assigned projects and work with Project Management and Technical Consultants to translate client business requirements into software solutions Produce required project documentation (e.

Functional Requirements Definition, System Requirement Specifications, Training Strategy, Testing Strategy) Actively pursue issue resolution and communicate project issues to stakeholders (e.
.
other consulting team members, Support Desk, Project Manager, Client) to ensure that issues affecting projects are quickly and effectively resolved Work collaboratively across different departments and groups within a matrix organization Deliver projects within scope according to budget and schedule Maintain an up to date functional knowledge of the software Work as part of a remote team and contribute to the learning and development of team members and participate in team and internal initiatives and projects About You You’re a fit for the role of Business Application Consultant if you.
Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or equivalent experience.
Experience with Legal practice management software system implementations preferred (Elite Enterprise, Elite 3E or similar).
However, experience with as a Functional Consultant implementing ERP systems (e.
.
SAP, Oracle) also considered as an advantage Strong experience in General Ledger in a multi-currency/multi-company environment or a credible/strong understanding of accounting principles.
Ability to be able to map and follow transactions from inception to posting into the General Ledger.
Experience as a Systems Accountant or similar would be advantageous.
