ACCOUNTANT

What's the role? We’re looking for an Accountant to join our Finance team.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accountant will be responsible for all aspects of daily accounting operations.
The position will supervise invoicing, inventory control, monthly closings, accounts payable and receivable monitoring, disbursement, preparation of the monthly financial statements, local tax compliance and maintain balance sheet schedules and subsidiary ledgers, as well as assist in various special projects.

What does the role involve? The purpose of the role is to ensure that all financial bookings are consistent, accurate, and finalized in time according to group guidelines.

International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
The key tasks include.
Perform compliant General ledger processes and consistent and correct financial bookings in month end closing / year end closing (MEC/YEC), Fixed assets, GL Master data, Intercompany, tax and maintain adequate ledgers (balances & P&L) Review & keep balance sheet up to date and post accurate accruals, prepayments and provisions Functional expertise and ERP system & tools knowledge to operate General Ledger processes including month end closing (MEC) and year end closing (YEC).
Ensure compliance with Group, legal and tax requirements & deadlines Operate General Ledger related ICS (Internal Control System) controls and ensure consistent filing Answer to requests from internal & external auditors Understand the General ledger KPIs (key performance indicators) and derive improvements for the General Ledger processes Be a sparring partner for the FBPs by linking business decisions to accounting processes and by delivering and improving agreed General Ledger services to the entities in scope Consistently challenge the status quo, act as change agent in the Shared Service Center Influence finance & non-finance stakeholders and successfully communicate with them Support Team Leader in the onboarding & training of GL accountants/peers & employees in the entities in scope to drive operational excellence & compliance We fill 80% of our management positions with our own internal candidates.

What you need is.
University degree in the field of finance, accounting and finance business administration, economics or engineering At least 4 years of relevant experience in accounting, experience in multinational companies, preferably the "Big Four" will be considered an advantage Good knowledge of IFRS and local accounting legislation and standards Strong analytical and conceptual skills Strong written and spoken communication and presentation skills in Croatian and English Ability to work with multiple stakeholders locally and at regional level (should be comfortable to work in a multinational environment) Well organized, with excellent planning skills, yet agile and open minded Ability to work with deadlines, experience in delivery tasks on time and organize autonomously time and agenda Excellent knowledge of Office package (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) Knowledge of SAP is a plus Why should you apply?
